Kali Caramia
Kali has multiple life experiences to draw from including a single parent (Mum) upbringing, a musical education, a few years of wandering Australia as a young adult, a survivor of domestic violence, marriage, divorce, 2 amazing grown children, a wonderful relationship with Helen Bolton and a Nana to two!
Her working life has been varied but consistent, interspersed with periods at university studying accounting, horticulture, psychology and achieving Diplomas in Project Management, Musical directing and now her Certificate IV in Celebrancy.
The constant in her life though, has been music – beginning the piano at the age of 8, continuing on to a music scholarship at Perth Modern School at 13 – playing the clarinet and singing, later learning the double bass and currently the cello. For 22 years she has been involved in singing - gaining gold medals at quartet and chorus level and representing Australia in the USA on 6 occasions. She has also held positions on Management Teams, Education Faculty and is the founding director of the Indian Blue Chorus, a women’s barbershop chorus in Burns Beach. Kali is also a qualified Reiki 2 practitioner, avid reader and lover of the ocean. Finding solace and strength being beside the ocean and sharing her love of water and interest in the spiritual side of life are her strengths and passions.
Kali wishes to continue exploring connection to ritual and ceremony to add depth and meaning to our lives and to sharing that with our community through Life Tree Celebrants.
Helen Bolton
Passionate about life, love and laughter Helen brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and skills to the world of marriage celebrancy. In her almost 40 years working professionally as a Speech Pathologist, Helen has developed skills in working with clients and their families to ensure that their goals are aspired for and their dreams achieved. After establishing a private practice to provide a range of services for children almost 25 years ago, in the latter part of her career, she built the successful TLC Voice clinic – providing intervention, support and care for clients with vocal issues, impacting on their life, career and quality of life.
Twenty years ago, Helen joined a world-wide singing organisation, Sweet Adelines International, giving her the opportunity, not just to sing and perform, but to represent her county on the international stage. Within this organisation, Helen’s skills in leadership, public speaking and writing were expanded further. She now trains emcees for the Australian Region and emcees the opening ceremony at our Regional Convention annually. Helen writes scripts for this event and her own Indian Blue Chorus’ shows and events.
Helen’s life journey was also interspersed with her own challenges. The greatest being the loss of her first child – Curtis. But as with other adversity that she has faced, Helen saw the opportunity to heal, grow and give back to others who were facing loss.
Helen can weave a story into a performance that encapsulates the essence of the event - be it love, loss or a celebration of any kind! She delivers her words with sincerity, passion and care ... sprinkled, of course, with her characteristic humour!
