Stone Ritual

As a symbol of unity and to pledge their promises today, the bride and groom have asked you all to hold a stone throughout today’s ceremony.

Rocks are not solid, but a fizz of atoms and flickering subatomic particles, the bulk of which is empty space. It is believed that holding the stone during the vows, casts them into that stone – hence the term ‘set in stone’.

You are asked to reflect during the ceremony on the wishes you have for the bridal couple. Let your intentions be stored in this space and these stones will forever hold and signify the joy and love felt here today.

After the wedding, the newlyweds will place these stones in a water feature at their front door and remember you, and the pledges they made today, every time they enter their home."

Nancy & James chose this ritual for their ceremony.
